LIFES A BEACH

Ohh boy has it been a steaming summer! Not only steaming but it seems as though it has been rushed. For weeks, even months, we people of America have been put thru some scorching temps- and have been hitting the beaches like no other! We all must have bad skin, and empty wallets from all the chlorine, and water bottles! We are all searching for ways to beat the summer heat- unless your a jerk who has central air- and I have even gotten a bit inventive. I remember last week I was sticking my head in the freezer, and putting ice pack on my feet. If you have a pool -like me- you go swimming, but if you don't well looks like the coolers get packed, the trunks come on, and the family goes to the beach!
Although we have a pool Mom planned a spontaneous day at the beach! My typical diva "I don't wanna swimm.... do they have wifi here...these kids need to shut up!" attitude was masked as soon as I hit that perfectly cool water! The feeling you get as your toes curl thru the sand is a euphoric high like no other! We had our 22 yr old island raft my parents bought when my sister was just a little one year old camping....she's going on 23 years in August! The island raft proved very fun when we took turns flipping each other off of it, and jumping into the water...like when my "front flip" turned into an idiot in a twisting jump falling belly first into the water. After enjoying the shrieks of my family when I swam under water and grabbed their legs, we ventured back to the table to have chips and pop...as well as casual small talk. Of course the day couldn't be a normal day without at least one of my friends recognizing me and waving hi...my Mom was like "we can't go anywhere without him knowing someone, even when we went up north camping he had people up their know him!" Oh Mom you have no way of knowing the amount of a social flirt I am. We relaxed for a little, watching people frolic away in the horizon, and hearing seagulls terrorizing the beach dwellers. In the end they decide to have a game night tonight...those are like keywords in an alert for me to escape to my room tonight to avoid cards flying at me. I don't do the whole family game night thing -only if we play monopoly- Plus tomorrow (Sunday Jul 14th) I get to be on set all day of a movie being filmed... guess who gets to be a zombie!? All in all it was a fun day, my pessimism turned around quickly because I was actually kind of enjoying myself. When life gives you lemons?...say screw you cause life's a beach anyway.
Stay Golden!
