Enjoy my blot I wrote during the game...
I am among the millions of Americans who tuned in this Sunday night February 2012 to witness the Giants take on the Patriots in SuperBowl XLVI. Witness, I didn’t…experience I did!
I don’t know what sports are, so I tune in for the grand event of it all: The National Anthem in case of a mess-up, the Half Time Show, well duh. Although I was late to arrive back home for the first half hour of the game I have DVR so my life was saved. After quickly recapping on DVR (aka skipping to the commercials) I ate pizza, had some pop and awaited the time when Madonna would grace the world with her presence.
She came out in an ELABORATE Gold Roman Style Chariot with Giant banners declaring “M” (I wonder what “M” means;) She had a large group of organized Roman Soldiers in hype for her old single ‘Vogue”…it was a slow start to her performance. Which I do not blame her, I would need like 2 minutes of exposure to the world to be ready to actually sing, nerves make people shake more then my small elderly dogs! The performance quickly got a faster pace with her break-dancers, cheerleaders, and even a College Marching band.
Now who also helped her pump America up for the second half you may wonder? Now, ok look here Miss Madonna, in picking your guest performers, where in your halfway sane mind did it occur “Let throw in a remix of “Vogue” and some “LMFAO” songs!? First off, they are pointless to be singers…because they can’t do said talent. Secondly, they are most certainly NOT sexy, and I know it. *chuckle*. During Madonna’s second song “Music” she jumped around with her Adidas styled b-boys on a set of Bleachers that had every color of the rainbow on the white screen covers. The pom-poms came out as promised by the Material Girl. Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. sang along with Madonna in her new single “Give me All your Luvin” in which M.I.A. apparently gave the Middle finger while performing…I was too focused on Nicki Minaj’s facial spasms…like seriously girl, chill out, we’re all looking at your breasts anyways :PAs another crazy performing segment we were “honored” (yes, that’s sarcasm) by the under qualified Cee Lo Green, who also is a judge on “The Voice”. Cee Lo brought his hip Drum Major side in while Material Girl sang some pieces of “Open your Heart” and “Express Yourself”. In which Cee Lo Green should not have sang in that 7Up commercial. After allowing that singing to slip into this grand performance, Madonna slipped on an elegant Black, sequin stripped dress to finish of with an extravagant finish of “Like a Prayer”. During this finale Cee Lo, and a large Chorus assisted Madonna. (Lucky people…our choir makes it to our own concerts and the school events :/) Madonna fell to her knee’s near the end, to what I learnt was a faux Rapture, rocking out with some old school moves that sparked some controversy among religious groups back in the day. The grand performance was concluded when Madonna cascaded below the stage with the opening of a trap door and a blast a smoke (very Oz like, just saying)
The real ending was when the stage and performers went black (no pun to Cee Lo intended) and you see a dazzling aura of golden stars gathering together forming the iconic words “WORLD PEACE”. As they slowly faded away our feeling of amazement, love, and old times brought back surely hasn’t. The Material Girl definitely made the Halftime show look easy, maybe I will be the one performing next year? Hmmm ya never know
And now…the food remains out, I leave the keyboard, and give season 2 of “The Voice” a one-episode chance to woo me into becoming a fan. What TV Show are you obsessed with? COMMENT BELOW!
