HOW TO GET YOUR BLOG NOTICED
Being a lone blogger and vlogger it is basically up to me to market myself. So I rely heavily on the graphics and ads I make and post on Facebook...be real no one really reads status anymore when there's a picture by it. The one use for my image making is so people are engaged by my content, it's basically a tease of what is to come by going and watching/reading. The hook, line, and sinker for many businesses are online relevant ads they put out, or local newspaper ads. When it comes down to it you want an image that people will look at immediately. Using these few tips are going to make your photoshopped image look professional, and become the focal point of everyones social networking!
1) 3D: I'm not saying put in a message instructing them to put on their glasses (totally coming soon with the advance of 3D) but rather add dimension to your images. The most popular ads I see distributed thru many sites (especially Yahoo's homepage) are interactive hover over, or button click ads. These drive in a lot of people, but chances are you can't do these. So an easy way to mimic their effect is to add digital dimension. This can be done by things like layering objects over other objects, adding sparkle/fire/water effects, and making text or image have a shadow to provide a popping-out look to it. The different dimensions add a sense of modern attractiveness....3D effects help.
2) COLOR: Obviously black and white ended when Charlie Chaplin died. New age media has brought out a whole new sense of quirkiness and spunk in people. People like seeing bright bold colors and designs, abstract and artistic things are like free cheesecake at a bakery! Use matching color schemes though, people do judge based on colors. (no racial aspect intended there) Bright attracts, but don't go Nicki Minaj on people...what a mess her wardrobe is.
3) CONTENT: As you see by my blog I have choose a rainy day, gloomy feel for the design scheme...this inspires me, although I don't know how many people are attracted to that so my blog ads typically speak individually based on the content. Conforming each ad to your blog and your blog post can however be done...such as having the same template like a digital billboard with your blogs theme, and an empty space where you customize your blog posts ad...
4) DON'T GIVE UP: As cliche as it sounds...don't stop making the ads, people may not "like" or "comment" on some ads you post on Facebook or twitter etc. but that doesn't mean give up...I have been doing it for about 2 years now, and many times I find out some people have been reading my blog, and watching my vlogs without even vocalizing it. Alot of times people don't spend time commenting for any reason, I checked today and my blog has 7 readers from Russia, I have no Russian Facebook friends!? So even if your friends aren't seeing your ads your blog still may get attention you don't know about, stay persistent and you will slowly build a fan base!
Share your tips in the comments please! I will give you a big hug and kiss!!!!!
